Having practised as a medical doctor in Nigeria and the United Kingdom for the past 14 years, I realised we can achieve if not surpass the health outcomes in the West, but we are going to have a different conversation and mindset about human life and the value we place on it. can it be done? absolutely. The solutions stare us right in the face. We must build a health system, seek the appropriate health financing framework and understtanding in great depth the social determinants of health such as water, sanitation and hygiene and their impacts on preventive healthcare.
